Texas Chili

1 lb. ground beef or turkey

2 large cans of crushed tomatoes

1 can of tomato paste

4 clo­ves gar­lic, minced

2 tsp sugar

2–3 T chili pow­der or add to taste preference

1 tsp oregano

1 ½ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

1 large onion,chopped

1 T olive oil

1 lb. box of pasta noodles

Sour cream

Shred­ded ched­dar cheese

Chop­ped onion

On medium heat, saute onion and gar­lic in olive oil in large pot. Cook onions and gar­lic until onions are ten­der. Brown ground beef with onions and gar­lic and then drain fat. Return meat and onions to pot and add cans of crushed toma­toes. Fill one of the large cans with water and add that to the sauce. Add can of tomato paste and stir well. Add sugar, ore­gano, chili pow­der, and salt and pep­per. Let sim­mer on low heat for an hour. Cook nood­les and drain. Pour sauce over nood­les on indi­vi­dual pla­tes. Top with ched­dar cheese, sour cream, and chop­ped onions.
