Mac and Cheese-To Die For

I don’t always bake the Mac and Cheese and tend to serve it after adding the sauce.
TO DIE FOR MAC AND CHEESE
Disclaimer: I got this recipe from our newspaper, and it is the best mac and cheese I have ever eaten. It isn’t exactly health food, but sometimes comfort food just has to be gooey.
2 C elbow macaroni
2 T butter
2 T flour
2 C milk
2 C cheddar cheese, shredded
¼ tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
Dash nutmeg
Cook noodles according to package and drain. While noodles are cooking, make cheese sauce. In a large saucepan on medium heat, melt butter. Add flour to butter and stir to create a paste. Add milk and keep stirring. Add cheese, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and stir till thick and creamy. Keep an eye on the sauce b/c it can burn quickly. Put noodles into a casserole dish. Pour cheese sauce over noodles and mix well. Cook in oven at 350 for ten minutes. Broil to brown top for 2–3 minutes.
