Deceptively Delicious
Did any of you see this segment on Oprah this week? Jessica Seinfeld wrote a cookbook, Deceptively Delicious, targeted at moms who want their children to eat healthier.
Basically, she purees various vegetables once a week, refrigerates them in Ziploc bags and then pours the puree into her recipe. So she puts broccoli puree in her chicken nuggets recipe. Scrambled eggs have cauliflower added.
I think she is genius! I’m going out tomorrow to buy the book and I’ll let you know how it goes!
Why didn’t I think of this??

I want this book also! It will be good for this non veggie loving mamma, as well as the kids. So far my kids are pretty good at vegetables, the baby especially — but my daughter is starting to get picky and I think this is just the ticket.

Sounds interesting! Let us know how it goes. I have also heard of putting salsa in your cooking to get the veggies down.

Wait. You’re making chicken nuggets from scratch? Mine come in a bag.

Tell me if it works?
I have always snuck veggies into my son’s food. They were really picky. But I never stuck those veggies into something like chicken nuggets.
I took toast and strawberry creamcheese, then sliced up kiwi or strawberries and banana’s and slipped them into the sandwich too. It’s actually really good.
